Leigh & Marcus' Wedding at The Menger Hotel in San Antonio, Texas

Leigh and Marcus' wedding was full of elegance, family roots, and tradition.Leigh and Marcus have been by each other's sides for 10 years. They met back when they were college students at Duke University. Both, Leigh and Marcus, were participating in the Reginaldo Howard Memorial Scholarship Organization for black students when they officially met. It wasn't long after that that they started dating. They spent the rest of their college years together in North Carolina.The two eventually moved to Chicago. And, once they were settled into their grown-up life in Chicago, Marcus asked Leigh to be his lady forever! Before their wedding, Leigh and Marcus initially expressed that they wanted their day to be an elegant and traditional wedding. And, the wedding was just that; classic, traditional, and spoke of so much family history.

Ceremony

Leigh and Marcus' wedding day took place in San Antonio, Texas. They chose San Antonio because this is where Leigh grew up and her family has a lot of history there. The ceremony was at Bethel AME Church, the same church where Leigh's parents were married. It was also where her  95-year old granny wed her late husband during WWII. Talk about family history.

Reception

Their wedding reception was held at the historic The Menger Hotel in Alamo Plaza. This beautiful hotel did not disappoint, it had just as much elegance and charm as the ceremony! The reception room had simple but beautiful, elegant decor. Pops of color came from the coral in the flowers and Leigh's bridesmaid dresses, which were the same coral as the flowers. Leigh and Marcus had their first dance to Billie Holiday's version of "(Our) Love is Here to Stay." So classic! And, since Leigh is a Delta, you know the reception included the traditional, Delta Sweetheart song and stroll.Shortly after the wedding, the two took off to romantic trip in Belize.If you're looking for a San Antonio wedding photographer, check out The Amber Studio.
